1. Who we are

Caterman Catering is a full-service catering company based in San Jose, California, serving the San Francisco Bay Area. This policy applies to caterman.net and the enquiries we receive through it. You can reach us at sales@caterman.net, (408) 441 8719, or 403B Reynolds Circle, San Jose, CA 95112.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit a quote request or enquiry form, or otherwise contact us, we collect the details you provide — typically your name, email address, phone number, company or organisation (optional), and information about your event (event type, dates, guest count, services, dietary requirements, and anything else you choose to share).

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our analytics and advertising providers may collect technical and usage data through cookies and similar technologies — for example your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, links clicked, referring website, and approximate location. We do not collect this data until you opt in through our cookie banner; if you reject non-essential cookies, these trackers are never loaded.

How you found us. When you arrive, your browser notes the origin of your visit in temporary session storage — the website or search engine that referred you, any campaign tags on the link you clicked, and the first page you landed on. This is first-party only: it sets no cookies, involves no other company, and is not used to build a profile or to follow you across other websites. It reaches us only if you choose to submit an enquiry, and is then kept with that enquiry so we can tell which of our own marketing brought you to us. If you leave without enquiring, it is discarded when you close the tab.

3. Cookies, analytics & advertising — your choice comes first

Strictly necessary cookies that keep the site working and secure are always on. Non-essential cookies and trackers — including all analytics and advertising tags — do not load until you give your consent through our cookie banner, and you can change or withdraw your choice anytime via Cookie Settings. When you opt in, we use the following Google services (managed through the Site Kit plugin) to understand how the site is used and to measure our marketing:

• Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager — site traffic and engagement measurement.
• Google Ads — conversion measurement and remarketing, so we can show relevant ads to people who have visited our site.

These services set cookies and may collect online identifiers. You can control or refuse cookies through your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out browser add-on, manage ad personalisation in your Google Ad Settings, and signal your choice with a browser that supports Global Privacy Control (GPC), which we honour automatically as an opt-out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. California residents can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of their personal information at any time using the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in our footer, by rejecting marketing cookies in Cookie Settings, by browsing with GPC enabled, or by emailing us at sales@caterman.net.

4. How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes and proposals, and plan and deliver your catering.
• To communicate with you about your event, including timelines, logistics, and follow-ups.
• To operate, secure, and improve our website and understand which content and services are useful.
• To measure and improve our marketing.
• To keep business records and comply with our legal obligations.

5. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as needed:

• Service providers who help us run our business — our website host, our enquiry and customer-management system, our email provider, and Google (for the analytics and advertising described above) — who are permitted to use it only to provide their services to us.
• Legal and safety reasons — when required by law, or to protect our rights, property, or safety and that of others.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Our use of advertising cookies may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law. You can opt out using the controls in Section 3 and the rights in Section 7.

6. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to respond to you, deliver your event, and maintain reasonable business records, after which we delete or anonymise it. Analytics data is retained according to the provider’s settings.

7. Your privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to:

• Know and access the personal information we have collected about you;
• Request that we delete or correct your personal information;
• Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information;
• Limit the use of any sensitive personal information; and
• Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

If you are in another region with data-protection laws (such as the EEA or UK), you may have similar rights — contact us and we will help.

8. Data security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s privacy

Our website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Third-party links

Our site may link to third-party websites and services (for example our social media profiles or Google Maps). We are not responsible for their privacy practices; please review their policies.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice of material changes.
